Hollis Johnson Robinson, Jr. was born in Houston, Texas on November 8, 1955 and was the second child of three in their family. Born of parents that were native Alabamians, at the age of five, he, along with his family moved back to Alabama and specifically in the rural neighborhood of Bradleyton where their family resides until this day. It was a dramatic change from the city but was right where the LORD would begin to mold, shape and form Johnson into the vessel he is today. Growing up in a rural setting, he was taught and experienced much about the great outdoors where he would later end up utilizing all of this experience and knowledge as a means by which to start a business that would propel him into the author that he is today.

He has three children; Lindsey, Justin and Jodie who are acknowledged in the acknowledgement section of his books. As a member of Helicon Missionary Baptist Church near Grady Alabama, he serves as a deacon and holds the position of correspondent secretary for the Helicon District Laymen’s Group.

Once he completed High School in 1974, Johnson enrolled in college at Auburn University where he desired to play football but was unable to participate beyond his first year due to an injury, but did complete his degree in business administration.

In 1982, Johnson started a commercial hunting and land management business, which he would in fact manage as the primary means to support his family for some 20 plus years. In addition to this business, which had seasonal trends, other grass root businesses started which included marketing businesses that involved collegiate licensed product lines and officially licensed racing memorabilia lines of products and services. Johnson wrote and designed all of the business plans and marketing materials for all of these businesses as well as the advertisement plans associated with these various businesses, product lines and services. Other business ventures during these years included excavation, site development and building.

Johnson has written business plans for other business starts that were secondary start up businesses that he was involved in while writing hundreds of communication documents as well as land management proposals associated with the various businesses that he was involved in from 1982 until today. Writing annual summaries of the success and stories associated with the various hunting days and years he encountered and experienced during these years, Johnson is planning to write and compile these in a book series in the future along with other planned books relating to his life and experiences he has endured.

Growing up in this rural Alabama setting, Johnson learned much about hunting, fishing, farming, athletics and life which were important, but he also learned more about the LORD as he attended Church and Sunday School from an early age. This grounded him in his faith in the LORD which he attributes to the real success he has had in life, which also sustained him through a recent fight with severe neck and throat cancer that he wrote about in his first book entitled, From “No Hope” 2 Totally Cancer Free©.
